莎士比亞讀書(shū)時(shí)就卓爾不凡，與眾不同。傳說(shuō)他年輕時(shí)在鄉(xiāng)村當(dāng)過(guò)教師。也有傳言說(shuō)他曾在一個(gè)叫托馬斯·露西的富裕財(cái)主兼地方行政長(zhǎng)官的土地上偷獵，結(jié)果被露西的管家發(fā)現(xiàn)，他為此挨了揍。莎士比亞出于報(bào)復(fù)，就寫了一首譏諷大財(cái)主的打油詩(shī)。這首詩(shī)沒(méi)過(guò)多久便傳遍了整個(gè)鄉(xiāng)村。大財(cái)主無(wú)論走到哪里，總有人用這首打油詩(shī)來(lái)嘲笑他。托馬斯鄉(xiāng)紳非常惱火，于是準(zhǔn)備想辦法懲罰莎士比亞，莎士比亞因此被迫離開(kāi)斯特拉福德小鎮(zhèn)，到倫敦避難。
